The redundancy of the language is one of the three essential characteristics of the language that have been revealed by linguists in recent years. It is the common feature of all the language including Chinese. The redundancy phenomenon reflects all sides of Chinese. On the basis of Chinese ontology and the theory of redundancy analysis, the paper systematically states and analyses the Chinese redundancy from the aspects of pronunciation 、vocabulary、syntax and utterance based on the performances that the predecessor have acquired through the method of documentary 、induction and analytical. The paper analyses the basic reasons of the Chinese redundancy from the internal reasons of the bisyllablization of vocabulary、the language meme and the language fuzziness and the external reasons of the cognitive subject and the politeness principle. The study of the phenomenon of Chinese redundancy is not only beneficial to the revelation of the essential characteristics of Chinese, but also has implications for the bilingual teaching and the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. The study of the phenomenon of Chinese redundancy can provide a new way of teaching and learning for the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. As a result, the paper will apply the Chinese redundancy of the pronunciation 、 vocabulary 、 syntax and utterance to the teaching of pronunciation 、vocabulary、syntax and utterance of the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language in order to benefit to the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.The paper consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction that states the research background、the research status、the research significance and the research method. The second part introduces the definition of redundancy and analyses the phenomenon of Chinese redundancy from the sides of pronunciation、vocabulary、syntax and the utterance. The third part states the reasons of the production of redundancy from the side of the language system itself and the side of subject. The reasons of the language system itself includes bisyllablization of vocabulary、the language meme and the language fuzziness. The reasons of subject include the cognitive subject and politeness principle. The fourth part is about the phenomenon of Chinese redundancy and the teaching Chinese as a foreign language that states the application Chinese redundancy in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The fifth part is the ending of the paper,which summarize the content of the paper and states the shortage of the paper and the problems to be solved.
