The bilingual policy is a cornerstone in Singapore’s education system. To ensure that it can stay effective and relevant with the changing language environment, Ministry of Education, Singapore, reviewed the teaching and testing of Mother Tongue Languages in 2010 and released the education idea of Mother Tongue Language, Learning Joyously and Using Proficiently. This thesis makesthe education idea of Learning Joyously and Using Proficientlyas the research object, analyses the practical mode of the Learning Joyously and Using Proficiently in Singapore pre-school Chinese teaching. This thesis is divided into six chapters, the main parts are Chapter Two, Chapter Three, Chapter Four and Chapter Five.Chapter One is literature review and concept definition.Chapter Two is analysis of the background, the content and the requirement of Learning Joyously and Using Proficiently.Chapter Three isanalysis of thepractical mode of Learning Joyously and Using Proficiently in Singapore’s pre-school Chinese teaching.Chapter Fourtakes the Pre-school Top Chinese Enrichment Programme in Confucius Insititute of Nanyang Technological University as the study case, analyses its practical mode of Learning Joyously and Using Proficiently.Chapter Fiveis the suggestions for practicing of Learning Joyously and Using Proficientlyin Singapore’s pre-school Chinese teaching.The last chapter is summary.
