| "One Belt, One Road" is a significant strategic initiative proposed by the People’s Republic of China with a view to promote the international and regional cooperation and the global economic development, given the sluggish recovery of world economy and the increasing pressure of domestic economic downturn. The content thereof is broad and extensive, including the cooperation with respect to economy, politics and military, as well as culture, education, science and other fields. Undoubtedly, the cultural exchanges element of the initiative provides opportunities for the countries situated on the Silk Road Economic Belt and Maritime Silk Road to better understand each other and build consensus of value. Cultural exchanges may promote economic cooperation and political mutual trust, and improve the trading quality. It may also largely alleviate the current increasingly intensified "cultural clash", and further enhance cultural awareness and cultural confidence of nations in the various countries, which may in turn create a favourable cultural atmosphere for smooth implementation of the "One Belt, One Road" strategic initiative.This article starts with the strategic function of cultural exchanges to the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, and then move onto the discussion on how to implement cultural exchanges of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative through analysis on the interaction between cultural exchanges and other fields and the key factors having impact on the cultural exchanges. |
