The Study On Yan Baohai’s Calligraphy

Yan Baohai is a famous historian, calligrapher and collector in China last century, held the post of the curator of museum,library and Memorial of the Liao-Shen Campaign in Jinzhou city. And he worked with Yang yuting general, and was friendly with Shen Yanyi. This paper mainly wrote the life and making friends, hand-writing copying and creating and the manuscripts of poetry of Yan Baohai to show his extraordinary life and techniques ofcalligraphy and thoughts. Thought field investigation, field trips search the related theory of calligraphy,seal-cutting, theremaining manuscripts and ancient calligraphy literature. The paper shows life of Yan Baohai, from the horizontal and longitudinal time to compare with history calligraphers,and draws that Yan Baohai is not only the represents of Liaoning regional calligraphy, but also the national represents.His achievement is outstanding among the contemporary calligraphers and scholars. Study of Yan Baohai enables us to understand another vein of Liaoning regional calligraphy last century. This made us more clear to know the development tracks of calligraphy last century, Liaoning regional calligraphy.It will have a great value for the study of Chinese calligraphy,literature and history last century.
