Nowadays, network has already interwoven with people‘s life. And people are getting familiar with online writing,such as web fiction, news webpage, Weibo and Douban. All these web writing increasingly influences students‘ thought and their writing. So we have no choice but to adapt our traditional composition teaching to the information age.The translator chooses Chapter Three of Crossing Boundaries in Web Writing: Why and How for Liberal Arts Teaching and Learning as the source text in this report. In this chapter web writing make it possible to cross boundaries, not only in race and culture, but also in time and space. As a new method to teach students how to write, web writing teaching provides a new way to solve problems that the traditional one met. The translator wants to provide a wide range of teaching examples based on web writing, to help all of us to rethink our teaching methods of liberal arts, and to motivate all educators to innovate with their students.This report is guided by Hans J. Vermeer‘s Skopos Theory. The source text type is narrative in non-literary work, which also called informative text. So the translator chooses Skopos Theory as guidance theory to analyze the long English sentences, including attributive clauses, adverbial clauses and noun clauses. Translation methods applied to are sequential method, reversing method, division and comprehensive method. The translator believes that the book Web Writing: Why and How for Liberal Arts Teaching and Learning has an extraordinary educational meaning, it‘s worth all these who are and would be educators to study.
