| There are a large number of symbols in ceramic decoration. How to interpret the symbols in ceramic art? This paper intends to make some research on ceramic decoration from the perspective of semiotics.The paper is mainly divided into six parts:the first part explains the significance and value of the topic; the second part briefly explains semiotics from the view of methodology, and points out the type of symbols in ceramic decoration; the third part analyzes the unique space structure and emotional structure in ceramic decoration; the fourth part mainly analyzes the significance of ceramic decoration language, including the definition, the establishment and extension of semantic, uses rhetoric viewpoints in semiotics to analyze ceramics symbols, and provides examples of how the typical rhetorical devices are embodied in ceramic decoration symbols; the fifth part discusses the significance of semiotics to the creation and appreciation on ceramic works, which is the influence by semiotics upon human aesthetic behavior; the last part summarizes the significance of semiotics to ceramic decoration as a kind of art, and looks forward to the future of the relationship between both. |
