In our thousands of years of excellent artistic heritage, geometric forms burst forth with their unique linguistic charm by integrating diverse methodological practices in a minimalist form. The basic geometric shapes extracted from physical objects help people to effectively portray the intricate world. And as geometry continues to gain ground in the field of ceramics, more and more decorative ceramic works related to geometry are beginning to be presented to the public. This paper explores the comprehensive use of geometry as a creative element in ceramic decoration design. The research idea is to summarize the formal aesthetic rules of geometry in the field of ceramic decorative design by means of data inquiry and case analysis of geometric elements,so as to pave the way for the subsequent design practice. The practical part of this paper focuses on geometric elements. In the creation practice,on the basis of formal aesthetics, combined with the clay itself, through two-dimensional,two-point-five-dimensional,three-dimensional expression form, presenting the work itself minimal and natural beauty. The six sets of designs, from the establishment of ideas, design drawings to the process of making porcelain, are the interpretation of the deeper connotation of the sensual mind through the rational geometry. In the selection of design ideas,we search for ideas that fit with geometric shapes and grasp the rational color of geometric shapes. The derivation of the design drawing is the process of summarizing the design elements and gradually realizing the refinement with the help of the divergence of thinking. In the production process,we try to express the clay nature,so there is no overly complicated process, but focus on the formal expression of the work.
