A Practice Report On Simulated Consecutive Interpretation Of The Speech By The General Manager Of FAW Zhang Pijie

This practice report is based on the simulated interpretation of the speech by Zhang Pijie, the general manager of FAW at the International Cooperation Forum on New Energy Vehicles to discuss how to have a further cooperation in developing new energy vehicles in the world. At the same time, it promotes the development of automotive industry of science and technology, environmental protection, energy conservation. The speech introduces development of new energy vehicles in China and puts forward the problems related to the new energy vehicles.Zhang’s speech is characterized with automotive terminology, a lot of abbreviations, and long sentences with complicated structures, which have posed a lot of challenges to the author, who encounters such problems as inadequate automotive terminology and knowledge, deficient logic of note-taking and weak psychological qualities.In this report, the author analyzes the problems and puts forward to the solutions, including acquiring the knowledge of automotive English, developing a symbol system in note-taking and enhancing the psychological qualities of an interpreter. The aim of the report is to share the personal experience and hope to provide some suggestions to others.
