As the founder of German Romantic Opera, Carl Maria Von Weber is a well-known German romantic music composer and pianist in the early 1800 s, especially famous fo r his opera. Weber is not a productive piano music composer. As a matter of fact, he o nly wrote four piano sonatas in his whole life. Besides, there are few research fruits an d literature about Weber’s sonata performance at home and abroad. By continuous pra ctising and analysing, I was able to display my research in a formal way and I hope it can provide some useful reference for the players.Taking the No.1 piano sonata as the research object, the thesis combines the author’s own performance practice with her own understanding and awareness. The thesis cons ists of introduction, three chapters and references. The main part of the thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is about We ber’s life and the creation background of the No.1 piano sonata. Divided into four sect ions, the second chapter displays the author’s performance analysis of the four movem ents in Weber’s No.1 piano sonata. The third chapter is about the performance method in Weber’s No.1 piano sonata. The author analyzes the touch key and pedal methods respectively in two sections.
