What is the population of left-behind children in rural China? The population is equivalent to the national population of the United Kingdom,France, or Italy. It is conservatively assumed that this figureexceeds60 million! Under great pressure, the problem of left-behi nd children has already become a problem that society cann ot bearRural left-behind children problem has become a problem to be solved in today’s society. Among them, the emotional problems of left-behind children should cause our enough attention. that are in a critical period of physical and mental development, the absence of parents for a long time that the left-behind children of the family sense of belonging, a sense of security, self-esteem and values are affected by severe, damage to their physical and mental health development.The reform not only pays attention to students’ cognitive development, but also to students’ emotion, values and attitudes.‘The fine arts in visual image affect and express p=eople’s ideas, emotional attitude and aesthetic taste. It enriches the human’s spirit and material world’.At present,there are a lot of researches about emotional educators and the left-behind children, but how to combine them well remains to be settled. this question will be discussed in my paper.This paper is divided into five parts. Part one is to illuminate the research background and significance of the topic. Meanwhile,this paper summarizes the domestic and foreign research of painting therapy, and introduces the research ideas and methods.Part two is about the research of the emotional status of the rural left-behind children. Part three is to analyze the possibility of painting forthe treatment on the emotional problems of the rural left-behind children. Part four is to represent the intervention process of the painting on two rural left-behind children who have emotional problems. Part five is to consider the problems of the painting for the treatment on the rural left-behind children who have emotional problems. The ending part is to summarize the whole paper.
