| With the development of technology and the spread of urbanization, the creation of modern watercolor landscape painting is deeply influenced to a great extend by the colo rful life in city. This influence has been gradually and naturally permeated into the wate rcolor landscape painting based on the rural life. According to the creation and develop ment of watercolor, it is easy to find out that in the 17 th and 18 th century of UK, waterc olor, industrial revolution and urbanization were in the same period. However, in those watercolor works which were aimed at the real life, we cannot see the urban life at that t ime. This phenomenon led to series of exploration and thinking.In hundreds of years of changing, the watercolor of city life has developed and progressed. The totally different city life and custom gave watercolor artists fresh understanding of city scenery. People no longer separate the city scenery from paintings, but try to describe the city scenery in their eyes with technological and scientific facts. No matter the natural scenery or daily life, the artist can describe the special feelings.The introduction of this article bases on the works of the 12 th national art exhibition, analyzing the contents, methods and innovative thinking of the research after a lot of reading jobs. The chapter one traces the source and the development history of the city view, discussing the 12 th water color painting exhibition’s general situation and unique features of art works. The chapter two explains the subject matter and pattern of manifestation, proposing that art works can be learned from their similarities. The chapter three is aimed at the methods of water color paintings, including the shadow, reality language and visual communication. The chapter four summarizes the findings above, putting forward some ideas about young painters who enjoy creating special water color paintings about city view, and even the benefits and shortcomings of art works. |
