Study And Analysis Of Brahms’ Two Piano Rhapsodies

Johannes Brahms(1833-1897), the famous German musician in romanticism period of 19th-century, has great contribution in the areas of music. Compared with his chamber music and vocal music works, the quantity of Brahms’ s piano works is not that much, but it’s unique inner deep emotional power is impressive, touched the hearts of the audience. Based on the piano works in 1879--the two piano rhapsody op. 79, this thesis writes in two angles-- teaching and learning, probing into its music ontology,to different versions of appreciation and different choice of music version,combined with the authors own teaching experience, aiming to better interpret the connotation, appreciation and understand way of the two pieces of music and share their teaching methods, hoping to enlighten teachers, students, and colleagues who love these works.This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first two chapters are mainly from position of learning, the first chapter is about the Brahms’ s life and music experience, to introduce the creative process of his piano works. Then writes from music ontology, analyze its formal structure and style, demonstrate its classical internal full, and romantic flavor of its era, shows "Brahms" personality traits. The second chapter analyze the two pieces using more specific techniques, including the instructions, touch tone keys, pedals and difficulty analysis, making learners better understand the connotation of the music.Chapter three and four writes from teaching perspective, the fourth chapter select more excellent modern pianist rupp and disquiet interpretation of these two pieces played a version of the appreciation, to make people have a higher level of comprehension, playing, enjoyment and teaching of these works; The forth chapter is the comparative analysis of different version of these two works, emphasize the importance of music version selection.The fifth chapter is the conclusion of author’s teaching experience.
