This report is based on the 117 th Canton Fair interpreting practice of the author. The client is Hebei Packaging Limited Liability Company, The main work of the author is the interpreting for receptions and trade exchanges for the company at the Canton Fair.Canton Fair features global trade, where exhibitors and buyers from all over the world participate. As an interpreter, the main task is to help bridge between the foreign companies and the client, making sure the negotiations go smoothly.This report is divided into five chapters, The first chapter introduces the interpreting tasks, including task background and the specific contents. The second chapter is about the multiple roles and characteristics of an exhibition interpreter. The third chapter is the task process, describing the preparation at different stages and the process of interpretation. The fourth chapter is the case study, analyses the specific cases under the Skopos Theory. The fifth chapter summarizes the experiences obtained in the practice, including interpreting strategies and the importance of the cultural background.
