In Hebei province 82.46% of the traditional villages is concentrated in the Taihang Mountains area, this has obvious regional characteristics. The traditional village Lingdi of She county is a typical representative of the traditional villages in Hebei Taihang Mountains area, rich in historical and cultural heritage, including ancient streets, ancient buildings, ancient coupons, ancient pool, bridges, and other tangible cultural heritage and paper-cuts, Knitting mat, high-stepping, the yangge, Zhuan Jiuqu, bamboo horse dance and other intangible cultural heritage. It was classified as a provincial historical and cultural village in 2008, was selected into the third directory of Chinese Traditional Villages in 2014. However, After two field reconnaissances in 2012 and 2015, the author finds that there are only 31 complete historical courtyards remained in 2015, compared to 2012,14 historical courtyards disappeared, historical and cultural heritage damaged seriously; the total population of the village is maintained at around 2900 during the past three years, nearly 1,200 people being out of work each year, the flow of population is serious. Thus, Lingdi, like other traditional villages, facing the severe reality of the serious destruction traditional architecture and the deficiency of overall historical value.Taking Lingdi as an example, the paper presents and analyzes historical development, general situation, the legacy of history and culture, Value characteristics of the village to excavate the resource and cultural characteristics of the traditional village and reveals the village’damaged status and reasons. On this basis, puts forward the approach, further clarify the focus of protection, recover the previous Pattern and style and promote the independent inheritance, so as to protect the village. Then, to determine the Orientation, "ecological tourism picking, traditional style shows and regional tourism joint development," through analysis of tourism development conditions, determination of tourism development design ideas, the design of tourism circuit, the design of tourism service facilities, to provide the impetus for the development of village. Finally, raises the approach of protection and utilization of the traditional village from the residents’perspective to create conditions for residents to participate the protection of the village.By studying on Lingdi, The paper provides a reference model to similar traditional villages in the Taihang Mountains area, so as to make the precious tangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage of the village protected and utilized, make economic of the village developed and make traditional lifestyle and historic veins of the village continued.
