The Study Of The General Arts Education In Media And Arts College

This paper is divided into three parts. Mainly related to the research to the General Art Education in arts colleges. The first part mainly elaborates the meaning of General Art Education’s developing in arts college from the characteristics of arts, Philosophy of higher education; it also makes some comparison from the aspects of the setting and aim of the college curriculum about Major Art Education and General Art Education.The second part discusses the effect and function of the General Art Education in arts colleges. It is developed from the three aspects as follows: improving of the students’ human quality, cultural heritage and the construction of excellent campus atmosphere.The third part discusses the necessity to set up General Art Education in media and arts colleges from the development of digital media art in the new era, The characteristic of media and arts colleges and the lack of General Arts Education in current time. And this part explores the ways and methods of General Arts Education courses in media and arts colleges. It is also the emphasis of this paper. From General Art Education’s feature, the construction of the curriculum system, and the establishment principle of the curriculum system, this part explains General Art Education curriculum’s construction.Finally, from the ways of elegant art in campus, folk art in campus, and studio experience show the diversity of General Art Education’s activities. And once again raises that the General Art Education curriculum should be improvedin the whole course system.
