Our country’s higher vocational education which used to be scale development has been changed into connotative development stage.The fast and deep development of higher vocational education of higher vocational teachers’ quality put forward higher requirements on higher vocational teachers’ quality, which has become the key factor of reformation of higher vocational education. But our country’s higher vocational education’s present situation can not well adapt to the need of higher vocational education reform and development, the quality of teachers in higher vocational colleges dose not fit with the characteristics of higher vocational education well. Higher vocational teachers’ professional quality has become an important topic in the field of teacher education. Compared with the overall research on higher vocational teachers’ professional development, the research of the development of the public English class teachers is weaker.From the aspects of curriculum objectives, the public English course is not only a foundation language course, but also a quality education course which can widen students knowledge, lets students understand world’s culture, having the character of instrument and culture. This research takes the public English course’s teacher’s professional quality as the research subject, which is the extension in the field of higher vocational teachers’ professional development both in the aspect of theory and practice. Its purpose is to guarantee higher vocational public English teachers can adapt to the requirement of higher vocational education’s reform and development, eventually improve the quality of public English class teaching, achieving the course’ training goal. Our nation paid attention to reform and development of higher vocational education, which is taken as the social background of the study. It focus on the teachers which are the fundamental and internal factors that influence the higher vocational education on the basis of domestic and foreign theory about the teacher’s professional development.it connects teacher’s professional quality with the particularity of higher vocational education and the teaching situation of public English courses.In the article, first, clarifies the conception of teachers’ quality and higher vocational public English courses, expounds the importance of higher vocational public English courses, then analyzes the structure of teachers’ professional quality from the professional knowledge, professional ability, professional spirit, combined with the characteristics of the higher vocational education. In order to get further understanding about the teachers’ quality of public English course in vocational college, this study takes XianYang Vocational and Technical College and the public English teachers as the breakthrough point, has carried on the empirical research for teacher professional quality through questionnaires and interviews, as well as research methods, such as classroom observation. The investigation gets feedback information from two parts: teachers and students, including the main content as the teacher’s education idea and the state of mind, knowledge of teachers’ professional ability and teacher professional development demand. According to the survey, the current public English teachers’ professional quality has much room to improve. Facing the problems existing in the teachers’ quality, this article analyzes the factors which influence teachers’ professional qualities from the aspect of the school and the teacher individual level. The influencing factors of teachers’ professional quality promotion objectively are from cultural environment and system of the school policy, subjectively from the teacher’s vocational education ideas and emotions. In view of the problems and influencing factors, the researcher put forward some strategies about teachers’ learning path extension from the construction of system and culture in school level, the building level of teachers’ development platform, and realization ways of individual teacher professional value, etc.In general, this study changed the macro perspective of higher vocational teachers’ professional development research, from the angle of micro discussed teachers’ professional qualities which is a basic problem influenced the reform and development of higher vocational education, tries to find and solve the common problem from teachers’ professional development, higher vocational teachers’ professional development, the public English courses teacher’s professional development in layers of in-depth. |
