Brazil’s piano music has a short history, which can be classified to be modern music. Being influenced by European music, most of the Latin American comp osers’ piano works in 19 th century were imitated from European music style. The local national’s music quintessence wasn’t found until 20 th century, by when traditional musi c was affirmed to be the source of Latin American music. After that, Latin American co mposers created a lot of piano works showing special charm and vitality Latin America n music based on folk songs and focal dance music.Ernesto Júlio de Nazareth was a famous composer in Brazil.He created Brazil Waltz which was an excellent Brazil’s piano work with a rich Brazil music style.This study talks about the composition and performance of Brazil Waltz from following points:musicial,form,harmony,accompaniment,rhythm,accent,pedal,skill,music performance and etc.
