Comparative Research On The Color Words Between Chinese And English In Red Sorghum

When Mo Yan’s novol—— Red Sorghum was published,many scholars at home and abroad were attention to it. After the famous American Sinologist Goldblatt translated,The novel of 300000 words cause a sensation in the world,but there are many differences on color words,from these differences,we can see the differences between English and Chinese.According to the research achievements of predecessors and we select a large amount of corpus in Red Sorghum to comparative research and analysis on the color words differences.This essay is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is introduction part.According to Red Sorghum,the paper includes background,the research status of color words,purpose,meaning,content and methods and so on,it provides the condition and possibility for later writing.The second chapter,we do the number of statistics and data analysis on Red Sorghum.First,we classify the color words from word family in the novel,and analyze the word frequency,kinds,and then,we sorting the color words,finally,we induce the color words in Chinese and find the characters.From the analysis,it narratives the reason that we choose Red Sorghum as the research focus.The third chapter,we do the number of statistics and data analysis on English translation——Red Sorghum.From the analysis,we find the characters,then we state the features,finally,we conclude the differences of color words between Chinese and English.The fourth chapter is the main part.We analyze the differences of color words between Chinese and English when we translated,First,we comparative the general character,number and find the reason of differences——save the translation and add the translation and so on. And then,according to the places in the sentences on color words,we can analyze in detail.The next part is about the reasons of difference.We will analyze them from meaning,property and culture,and then we can draw a conclusion.The last chapter is conclusion part. By analyzing the number,we can discover the differences between form and structure,On the basis of the comparative and analysis,we draw the conclusion,at the same time,we narrative the shorting and insufficient,and last,we put forward some views on translation of color words.
