Idiom is a living fossil of culture. It is not only an important member of the vocabulary, but also absorbs the essence of Chinese culture, which contains a wealth of traditional Chinese culture. Investigation of the existing students culture curriculum, the author thinks that students in the advanced stage of idiom course you can add to the culture curriculum to better study Chinese idioms using level, really grasp the magnificent and splendid Chinese culture.Based on the investigation of the 10 colleges of advanced foreign culture, curriculum, through the analysis of advanced stage students courses of Chinese language and culture, points out the necessity of students of Chinese idioms curriculum, we believe that Chinese idioms curriculum is not only the vocabulary teaching is an integral part of the, and to enhance the students the proportion of culture teaching, further improve students’ Chinese expression level. We idiom teaching of Chinese to foreign students were to design the overall framework, the idioms are divided into material culture, institutional culture, behavior culture, the concept of cultural idioms teaching plate, and wine culture idioms and marriage culture idioms as a case of specific teaching design.Idiom is the carrier of culture, in the process of learning Chinese students, master the cultural connotation of idioms will promote the understanding and use of idioms. This paper puts forward to set up the Chinese idiom elective course, hope that through this study, we attach great importance to the teaching of Chinese idioms for foreign students.
