This report is based on the translation of medical papers on type-2 diabetes. The original papers were derived from Pub Med,which is the seaching system of the National Center for Biotechnology Information supported by National Labrary of Medicine.Pub Med is currently the most authoritative international biomedical literature database and the papers translated here is collected by SCI. The target reader of our translation of the medical papers is professional medical workers. Due to the advancement of the topic the medical papers dealing with, the tranlation of the project went though a lot of difficulties. The original papers try to find out the pathophysiological role of Vaspin in type-2 diabetes by means of statistical analysis and medical experiments which demonstrate the difference of Vaspin level between nomal people and patients with diabetes. This report is composed of 4 chapters. The first part is the introduction of the translation project including the content and the background of the medical papers, and the reason why we select this topic. In the second chapter we talk about the process of the translation of our project, which is divided into 3 aspects. That is the preparation before translation, the summary of the characteristics of medical paper while proceeding the project, and the checking and revising after we finish translating the medical materials. While the third part deals with the difficulties and problems we met during the translation process,which come from the lexical and grammatical features of the texts and the chart translation.translation strategies and criteria are also included and some translation skills are also mentioned. As to the last part, the harvest and deficiency of this translation project is summarized.
