Chinese directional complement has different types of expression, including the tendency of motion, the direction of motion, the result of action and the state of action and so on, it has always been difficult to master for foreign students, so there are many types of error phenomena. We plan to start from the Beijing Language and Culture University HSK dynamic composition corpus, take sentence patterns of directional complement error as the research object based on the search criteria of missing and redundancy of complement. The sentence patterns of directional complement error are divided into 7 kinds according to the feature of syntactic structure, and we can get other 14 kinds of sub-structures after inspecting the basic meaning and the extensional meaning of the directional complement in each kind of sentence pattern. We made statistical analysis on the usage condition of each sentence pattern of different certificate level candidates, and then conducted syntactic and semantic analysis according to the usage condition, finally we put forward some corresponding teaching strategies to make directional complement acquisition easier.The paper is divided into four chapters.The introduction. Started from different views of predecessors about the study of the directional complement error, we elaborated the point-cut of this paper, and put forward the research plan.Error analysis of Chinese directional complement. This chapter is divided into three parts, the first part determined our survey scope of directional complement, and take sentence patterns of directional complement error as the research object based on the search criteria of missing and redundancy of complement. The sentence patterns of directional complement error are divided into 7 kinds according to the feature of syntactic structure, and we can get other 14 kinds of sub-structures after inspecting the basic meaning and the extensional meaning of the directional complement in each kind of sentence pattern; The second part, we made statistical analysis respectively on the error condition of 22 directional complements, the acquisition condition of each sentence pattern in different learning phases and error types; The third part, we conducted specific syntactic and semantic analysis on typical error corpus of each sentence pattern in different learning phases.The third chapter is to analyze the reasons of directional complement error and put forward corresponding teaching strategies. We explored the reasons of error in the process of foreign students learning Chinese directional complement from four respects, including the basic meaning error of directional complement, the extensional meaning error of directional complement, the negative transfer of mother tongue and the over-generalization of target language rules. Then we put forward some specific and targeted teaching strategies, including strengthening the learning of basic meaning of directional complement, strengthening the teaching of extensional meaning of directional complement, emphasizing the transfer factor of mother tongue, teaching sentence patterns of directional complement in different learning phases and using flexible teaching methods.The epilogue. We summarized the research method of this paper, expounded the conclusion of our research, and pointed out the problem of further study of this topic.
