This article is a practice report of interpreting. The main content is that the author served as the interpreter for Seminar of Hebei-Brandenburg Investment and Cooperation. As globalization continues, economic, political, cultural and personnel exchanges between countries are becoming increasingly frequent. International conferences and forums in various areas, by all kinds of organizations continue to grow in number and scale. Now that China’s comprehensive strength has improved dramatically, its international status rising remarkably, a rising number of meetings of the kinds mentioned above are being held in China. Seminar of Hebei-Brandenburg Investment and Cooperation is just one of them. And such meetings present a great challenge to interpreters, especially the interpreters for conferences.The visiting delegation includes more than 30 entrepreneurs from the fields of energy, environmental protection equipment, machinery manufacturing, engineering and other fields, as well as 10 advisory service companies, and investment promotion agencies. The main task of the writer is to interpret for Dr. Steffen Kammradt, CEO of Brandenburg Economic Development Board(Dr. Steffen Kammradt) and to help him communicate and consult with the Chinese counterparts which include participants from various corporations. Among them, this article mainly reports on negotiations between an aircraft factory from Shijiazhuang, China and Germany, as well as the discussion and communication between the German side and the Cangzhou Zhongjie industrial park. The practice report, giving information and recording on the practice of the author’s participating in the conference interpretation, reflects and discusses the problems during interpretation and room for improvement.
