The rapid development of worldwide economy enhances international business communications. Chinese businessmen have always been working hard to integrate into international business world and always hoping that they could gain more access to good western books on business so as to catch up with the international updated knowledge. This is a practice report on translation of chapter five and six in a business communication book called “The It Factor—Be the One People Like, Listen to, and Remember”.Under the guide of Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory, this report come up with corresponding translation strategies for the lexical, syntactic and textual problems arising in the translation process in a way of case study and concrete analysis. The author uses translation techniques such as localization, addition and omission to cope with the translation of culture-loaded words, the main problem on the lexical level; problems on the syntactic level are solved by rearrangement of sentence structure and addition of logical subjects; and translation methods like zero translation, literal translation are adopted to realize textual coherence on the text level. The author sincerely hopes that this report could be helpful to readers and English book translators in the future.
