| News, as one of the important means for people to understand and perceive the world, is closely related to public life, national policies, social changes and international relations. People want to know the latest events and trends at home and abroad from news reports in order to keep abreast of the times. The translation of military news which contains statements, documents or reports relating to national security and interests should be taken seriously, because the events mentioned in military news involve international politics, international laws, bilateral ties and other factors.Based on my own internship experience of military channel in Huanqiu Network, the paper attempts to use text typology to analyze the text features of military news and discuss the strategies of its E-C translation process. The thesis, in the frame of reference to text typology theory, firstly analyzes the linguistic features and text features of military news and the problems and difficulties encountered in the process of translation, and proceeds to propose some useful translation strategies which include foreignization, domestication and trans-editing in the hope of shedding some light on the English to Chinese translation of military news. |
