With the improvement of degree of attention to the professional translation, the role of the translator in the translation process and the influence on translation is becoming more and more conspicuous.As is known to all, research on translation has been transformed from the aspect of language to the culture that behind the language.Cultural turn not only enriched the content of linguistics, also let people realize the importance of the translator’s cultural accomplishments.Eugene N ida has pointed out in his famous "dynamic equivalence" translation theory that "translation is by using the most appropriate, natural and equivalent language to reproduce implied and text information of the source language".The translator plays a decisive role in the whole conveyor belt, the integrity of the knowledge structure of the translator directly decides success of the translation.The translation task included the historical literature of missionary activities in Xinjiang and in northwest C hina from the late 19 th century to the beginning of the 20 th century. In this paper, through classifying the difficulties and problems and contrasting the first draft with the revision, I will prove that the knowledge structure of the translator plays a vital decisive role in the process of understanding the original.
