Research On The Images Of Male Character With Femininity In Chinese Modern Fictions

In Chinese literature, the images of male Character with femininity are inextricably linked with Romantic literature.And they have a long history.The images where originated from Poetry of the South,and formed a trend in Novels of gifted scholars and beautiful ladies during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Then they have been inherited and developed by early Romance and Butterfly Type of Novels writers at the beginning of the twentieth Century.After the New Cultural Movement,with the effect of various modernistic trends,the images of male Character have new implications in the sublation and negation from literary trends to the history and the creation in Chinese new literature.Especially in Creation Society writer’s works during the May Fourth movement.Over the same period,although the female writers’ works were different from the male writers’,they were still a kind of male’s writing.Although the images of male Character in revolutionary novels and family novels of the 1920 s and 30 s in the twentieth Century have difference,they still have the same qualities,such as they are always be improved or turned by other people. In the 1940 s with the trend of national liberation and the emancipation of women rising again,the significance of the male Character images in novels continue to change. It reflects the significance of age.While carding the images of male Character,we can find that the changing of them is the embodiment of modernity in literature、ideology,even though in culture. It is a kind of ideology which oppressed people in thought not mere gender oppression.But the victims provide service for the function of the feudal hierarchy unconsciously.The images of male Character were what they were.Therefore,the complication of modernity in Chinese history of literature,even the whole social, is still a work in progress.The cultural revolution and the ideological revolution cannot be replaced by social revolution.
