The Semantic Analysis And The Culture Explanation Of "Zhi" (æ­¢) In "Zhou Yi" And "Da Xue"

The Chinese character "Zhi"(止)has been a word which has got the ability to reproduce new words,at the same time,it is also regarded as a very important concept of Chinese traditional cultural category. "Action" is seen as "Zhi’"s(止)main meaning.Many Chinese sectarians develop their own ideas by "Zhi"(止),among them, the books——"Zhou Yi" and "Da Xue" can be viewed as representative works. This paper analysis the word "Zhi"(止)and other words which use "Zhi"(止)as their radical component from three aspects——the font /the Chinese pronunciation/the literal meaning. Then, this paper analysis the meaning/the way of how to realize/the significance of value of the "Zhi"(止)in "Zhou Yi" and "Da Xue". At last, this paper compares the same connation of "Zhi"(止)in "Zhou Yi" and "Da Xue", which is based on the research of the scholars in Song/Ming/Qing dynasty.
