"Pursuing Innovation All His Lifetime"——Research On Director Jizhou Yan

Jizhou Yan (1917-) is a well-known director at the beginning of the establishment of the New China,he pursuing innovation all his lifetime. He has directed 25 films during his career, "Intrepid Hero", "Struggles in the old-Line City", "Two Brothers" are immensely popular among the audience. Especially "Intrepid Hero" has become a classic anti-spy film in Chinese movie history. He was awarded the Golden Rooster Award for Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.This thesis studied on director Jizhou Yan and his films. "Pursuing Innovation All His Lifetime" is the clue. Firstly,the thesis analyzed Jizhou Yan’s film creation course. Then discussed his movie ideas, thriller style movie, movie theme and characters; Finally,the thesis studied his movies’ image and voice style,and creative limitations.Based on the overall research of Jizhou Yan’s films,this thesis aims to give more in-depth evaluations through the analysis and systematically research.
