Research On Convergence And Development Of Tourism Industry And Cultural Industries

China’s economy has entered a new normality, and economic development presents the "high speed, optimal structure, new power, many challenges" as the four characteristics. The optimal structure refers to the optimization of industrial structure, which has brought important opportunities to the rapid development of the tertiary industry or the service sector. Belonging to service sector, tourism industry and cultural industries are new industries cultivated by State and local governments at all levels, and are also an important part of transformation and upgrading, structural adjustment and important sources of economic growth in the future. In general, the proportion of service sector in the economy is about 70% in most developed countries, about 60% as the world average, but less than 50% in our country(2014 statistical data). The 2014 National Economic and Social Development Statistical Bulletin, issued by the State Statistics Bureau on February 26, 2015, showed that in 2014 China’s GDP reached 63.6463 trillion yuan. The added value of the tertiary industry reached 30.6739 trillion yuan, which is 48.2% per cent of GDP, and is 5.6% higher than the secondary industry. The tertiary industry exceeds the second industry in the proportion, which also marks the service sector into a new development stage. This trend shows in the new phase the service sector will become the new impetus for China’s economic growth. The proportion of the tertiary industry continues to rise, which indicates that China’s economic structure is undergoing a significant change, transformation and upgrading has reached a critical stage, and China’s economy is transforming from an industrial model to a service-led model. In this context, study on the convergence and development of tourism industry and cultural industries adapts to the trend of economic development, keeps up with the trend of the adjustment and upgrading of industrial structure, and has some theoretical and practical significance.Based on the theory of industrial division and industrial convergence, and on an analysis of such concepts as the tourist industry, the cultural industries and industrial convergence, with the aid of theoretical research results of scholars both at home and abroad, this paper discusses the feasibility and necessity of the convergence and development of tourism industry and cultural industries, as well as its internal mechanism and external thrust. At the same time, taking Tai’an city, Shandong province as an example, the paper analyzes the cases of convergence and development of tourism industry and cultural industries in recent years, uses concrete examples and figures showing a momentum of vigorous development of cultural tourism, points out existing problems and deficiencies, and puts forward suggestions. In the final end, the paper points out that the convergence and development of tourism industry and cultural industries is an irreversible and accelerating trend, and points out the deficiencies of this article and the focus of future research.
