Our country has a very long history. Make a general survey of the development process of our country’s history, we Chinese nation has centuries-old history and diversified culture, and nothing is better than our traditional pattern could represent the cultural charm of our country. The development of the traditional pattern has shown the distinguished imagination of people in our country and also has shown the intelligence and wisdom of ancient Chinese people. The traditional pattern elements of we Chinese nation are mainly reflected in the following several aspects, such as facial makeup, scissor-cut, blue cloth with design in white, utensils of different dynasties and so on. It has shown the shocking, courage and artistic conception which were reflected by the profound culture of our country. With the continuously development of our country, and the rapid progress of the society, the meaning of the traditional pattern has experienced some changes. In the process of its continuous development, the traditional pattern has become the symbol of the outstanding creation in ancient China, and it has carried the cultural characteristics of we Chinese nation, it is the symbol of our splendid culture. With the continuous development of our country, the public morals of our country has been affected by some western countries in a large degree, the culture of our country was neglected gradually, at this time, people started to fuscous on our traditional culture. Chinese traditional pattern is the symbol of our traditional culture, and it plays an important role in the traditional culture of we Chinese nation, people has made deep researches and analyses on its values, and people has gradually started to realize the charms of our traditional culture, which not only have high cultural value, but also reflect the intelligence and wisdom of ancient Chinese people. The traditional pattern has very large development market on the periodical decoration, and it is conducive to the inheritance of our traditional culture, the traditional pattern has also reflected its diversified values by applied to periodicals and other aspects.At present, in the angle that the traditional pattern is applied in the decoration of periodicals, the application of designers on Chinese traditional patterns is not mature enough, there are still some serious shortages and design mistakes existed in aspects of periodical decoration and so on, which cause that the intrinsic value of traditional patterns could not be displayed completely, thus to loss the significance of traditional patterns in periodical binding to some extent. This paper would focus on talking about the origin of Chinese traditional patterns and historical development course, narrating some problems and design defects embodied in periodical building of Chinese traditional patterns, providing solutions for these problems and defects and conceiving regional culture highlighted with the perfect combination of future periodical building and traditional patterns of our country, this paper also makes analysis on cases of traditional pattern integrated with periodical binding and designing which embody regional culture by some personal at home and abroad, discuss some existed problems and provide solutions, this is the emphasis of this paper. The third part of this paper narrates design principles, design methods of periodical design, elaborates the appreciation way of design in periodical binding, makes comprehensive consideration on development prospect of market and design style of patterns from two aspects of design ideas and commodity price, which sows the seed of following narrative; the fourth chapter of this paper analyzes innovative manifestation of individuality of regional culture in periodical binding and designing of design pattern in our country, next, we would make relocation on design patterns from the aspect of design pattern innovation in our country and makes it keep up with pace of the time, we would also discuss some obstacles and problems need to be solved of traditional design patterns in periodical binding and designing and make detailed planning on future development prospect, provide references on comprehensive improvement of periodical binding, the development of Chinese traditional design pattern in the world, the inheritance of Chinese culture and so on, and list success design cases.
