The Research On The Evolution Of Chinese Traditional Patterns In Logo Designing Within The Last Thirty Years

Chinese traditional patterns is a treasure and the source of Chinese logo design. Since thenineteen eighties, there are so many outstanding cases of the application of the Chinese traditionalpatterns.This paper analyzes a collection of outstanding cases of application of Chinese traditional patternsin1981to2010. It catalogues the traditional patterns of those cases into seven categories: animalpatterns, plant patterns, character patterns, text patterns, geometric patterns, implement patterns andother patterns. The integrated use of longitudinal research, quantitative research and correlation studymethod, to collect the case made form analysis in the context of the times, the traditional graphic isapplied in the logo design, such as the symbol of the selection of subjects, graphics and logo coloranalysis, resulting in1981-2010years of traditional graphics in logo Design: the evolution process ofthe application of the traditional graphical symbol design of surge in number, including the use ofsubject matter most is the text patterns, followed by the geometric patterns and animal patterns, usingthe least amount of plant patterns; from the application of the dragon, Phoenix and other typical Chinesesymbolic graph, extended to various types; from faithful to the traditional graphical form, color and nowall flowers bloom together.; from a single sign of application to the whole system; from the manualdesign to computer technology should be used; both from the simple, geometric and modernism designto a variety of styles. I hope this paper can be a reference to the application of Chinese traditionalpatterns in logo design nowadays.
