During the late Ming dynasty, a tide of the poetry was popular among Buddhists,especially in Wuzhong district, where the literary and artistic activity were particularly flourishing.The contacts between Buddhist and literati were unprecedented frequent. In this context,a large number of Buddhists who were good at writing articles and poetry came up constantly. They had a good knowledge of the literature, giving out poems as gifts, with a tendency to be literati.Making the research of the Monk Xuelang Hong’en in the late Ming Dynasty is the key point to discuss the Poet Monk in the late Ming Dynasty.Because he played an important role in the Buddhism in the turning point between Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Buddhist achievement of Hong’en expanded the horizon of the Buddhists. This text is talking about the Buddhist Xuelang Hong’en and his poems in the late Ming Dynasty. It is based on the punctuating and proofreading of the poetry in the “The Anthology of Xuelang”,studying of his achievements in poetry and the ideas of the poetic creation and discovering the significance of Hong’en in the history of Buddhist poetry as well as the contact and creation between the Buddhists and literati.The first part of this paper consists of three chapters to studying of Xuelang Hong’en’s achievements in poetry and the ideas of the poetic creation, discovering the significance of Hong’en in the history of Buddhist poetry as well as the contact and creation between the Buddhists and literati.Chapter 1 of this part mainly introduce the life time of Xuelang Hong’en.It will mainly talks about some fuzzy facts about Xuelang Hong’en, especially the moving from the Mount Xuelang to Wujiang Kiosk;will analyze the reason why Hong’en was criticized by the people of that time.Chapter 2 of this part summarizes the overall style of Hong’en’s poetry, and carefully analyzes the writing habits of Xuelang Hong’en in imagery, the topic and the genre and the Buddhist characteristic. Chapter 3 of this part according the features of Xuelang Hong’en’s poetry to discover the contact and creation between the Buddhists and literati,to illustrate the influence of Xuelang Hong’en to the poetry’s population among Buddhists and to discover the significance of Hong’en in the history of Buddhist poetry.The second part of this paper is the punctuating and proofreading of the poetry in the “The Anthology of Xuelang”.The master copy is edited by the Monk Tongze in“The Collection of Siku Cunmu”.It is proofread by “The Continuation of Chanmen Yishu”“The Collection of Dynasties Poetry”“The Collection of Gujin Chanzao”etc.Then inputting the results of the punctuating and proofreading of the poetry in the “The Anthology of Xuelang” by Simplified Chinese to be the basic literature to deeply analyze the poetry of Xuelang Hong’en.
