As an negative social emotion that is widespread exists in everyday life, jealousy is an experience from personal perceiving that some value relations would be threatened by competitors which is real or believe. The experience would appear when people is in front of the situation of Social exclusion, that is, people will feel jealousy when they facing the situation that be rejected or be ostracism, and no evidence clearly for that. The purpose of the research is investigate whether social exclusion lead to the occurring of jealousy, and the role of self-esteem in it. Cybelball game, self-esteem scale, implicit association test, emotion word test of jealousy have be used in research as the measure tools of social exclusion, self-esteem, jealousy emotion. The level of jealousy have be estimated when people in difference of state of social exclusion, and the changes when think of the role of self-esteem.The results revealed:(1) Cyberball game could give rise to the feel of social exclusion in Chinese university students.(2) People who in the social exclusion situation report a high level than others who in social inclusion situation.(3) self-esteem have a moderating effect in the relation among social exclusion and jealousy. Self-esteem could protect people to avoid the injure of social exclusion, people who have high level of explicit self-esteem report lower experience of jealousy than people who have low level of explicit self-esteem. But data have no support to the mediating effect of implicit self-esteem.
