In this paper, we take two different Chinese translations of the same Buddhist scripture as our research object. They are Wenshushili Xianbaozang Jing of Zhu Fahu in the Western Jin Dynasty and Dafangguang Baoqie Jing of Qiunabatuoluo in the Liu Song Dynasty. By a comparative study of these Buddhist classics, we depict an overview of vocabulary and the usage of grammar, explain some language evolutions in the Buddhism and China literature and use the material to collate each other, which illustrates the unique corpus value of different translations of the same Buddhist scripture in the study of the ancient Chinese.This paper includes four parts:In the first chapter, we mainly introduce several aspects as follows:the reason, the value and current research of different translations of the same Buddhist scripture, the reason why select these two versions and the study methods.In the second chapter, the paper describes an overview of vocabulary of theses classics from three aspects. In the case of individual words, this paper further proves the style of word of Zhu Fahu and Qiunabatuoluo who belong to different ages of translation and some words’evolution.In the third chapter, we compare the grammar phenomenon of the two scriptures from two aspects, function word and syntax, which accounts for the stability and evolution of grammar.In the fourth chapter, we demonstrate some examples of emendation of the two scriptures. The errors consist of false words, omitted words and inverted words.
