This report is based on the consecutive interpreting experience at Gansu Provincial National Day Symposium for Foreign Experts in 2014. It consists of 5 parts including the introduction, the task description, the interpreting process, the case analysis and conclusion.The practice report first provides the introduction of the report, which includes the background and the purpose of the research. The second part is the task description focusing on the source text analysis and the requirements made by the Foreign Expert Bureau at the symposium. The third part discusses the three procedures of the symposium concerning before interpreting, while interpreting and after interpreting. It covers the background information, the interpreting tools and resources, the guided interpreting theory― Effort Models by Gile, the interpreting plan, the glossary and contingency in the before interpreting part. The three phases which are stated in the while interpreting part including the speech of host, the speech of foreign expert speech and the Vice Governor’s speech. Feedback and the self-evaluation are illustrated in the after interpreting part. The fourth part is the case analysis which analyzes difficulties and solutions in the aspects of deverbalization, re-expression, cross-cultural communication, listening comprehension obstacles and psychological quality.Finally, it draws the conclusion as following: 1. the interpreter should strengthen the bilingual ability; 2. the report demonstrates the importance of preparation, especially for the formal conference with the distinct theme, so the interpreter ought to gather much background information to output the high-quality interpretation; 3. the consecutive interpreting with text needs to select the appropriate tactics and has anti-interference ability which would serve the positive effect in interpreting.
