This paper studies the battle of Poitiers in the Hundred Years War’s earlier stage. The Hundred Years War was the longest war in the history of medieval Europe. The battle of Poitiers was an important battle in early Hundred Years’ War, which was a deliberate campaign of England, England put a large number of advanced weapons into battlefield, King John II and a lot of aristocracy were captured. After Poitiers, England and French signed "The Treaty of Calais ", which made the end of the first phase of the Hundred Years’ War. The author, based on previous studies, to desire the cause of the battle of Poitiers’ s outbreak, process, the impact on England and France after the war,and the treaty post-war.The full text consist of three parts, introduction, main body and conclusion.Introduction is the first chapter, to summarize the purpose and significance of internal and overseas’ current research.From the second chapter to the fourth are main body, The second chapter describes the background of the Hundred Years War’s outbreak, studying from England and French origin of contradiction, lord vassals, the French throne, the relationship between England-France and Scotland, the territory of the dispute between England and France, England and France financial crisis, total of five parts.The third chapter focuses on the battle of Poitiers and consequences. To analysis the contact between Poitiers and Crecy(1346), Poitiers cause of the outbreak of the war, after the battle narrative, the reason why England wined and France was defeated,to study a lot of treaties and the reason why they couldn’t be carry out.The fourth chapter is evaluate the battle of Poitiers. Poiteiers have an effect on England and French, From France to England to discuss both the impact on English two aspects, germination and early national consciousness expand parliament powers;the impact on the law in four areas, the country captured Houfalanxi chaos of death,Estates General, financial problems, triggered peasant uprising.Conclusion is summary. The battle of Poitiers in the Hundred Years War’s earlier stage impact on England and France. After war, England and French signed Treaty ofCalais. Notwithstanding had defects, but also it was a treaty that both sides wanted to terminate the war.
