Degree adverb“tai(太)”is commonly used in Modern Chinese, it’s not difficult for Chinese native speakers to use“tai(太)+adjective”structure to express degree in communication.However we find that combination structure of“tai(太)”and adjective,different meanings of its negative forms have caused great confusion to foreign students in TCSL.They made a lot of error in using affirmative and negative forms of“tai(太)”.Therefore, this article starts with foreign students’ error and mainly studys on affirmative form “tai(太)+adjective”in which “tai(太)”combinated with adjective, and its two negative forms“tai(太)+bu(不)+adj.”“bu(不)+tai(太)+adj.”, then proposes teaching strategies based on the description of the Chinese rules.The first chapter is an introduction, in this chapter we explains the origin of the topic and the research object, reviews research status, clarifys the research ideas,research methods and research significance, describs the corpus sources and its related issues.The second chapter mainly discusses the semantic features and pragmatic functions of the affirmative form“tai(太)+adjective”. This chapter describs and analyzes the semantic features and pragmatic conditions of“tai(太)+adjective”which foreign student’s errors involved.We pointed out that“tai(太)”has the semantic features of [+ volume degree] [+ subjectivity] [- variability] [+ blur amount][- comparative ], analysing the reasons why the constructional meaning of “tai(太)+adjective”exists positive and negative opposing meanings tendencies, we also have analyzed the contextual conditions to activate the meanings of the two structures.The third chapter mainly discusses the differences between“tai(太)+bu(不)+adj.”and “bu(不)+tai(太)+adj.”This chapter starting with the collected foreign students’ bias that confusing “tai(太)+bu(不)+adj.”“bu(不)+tai(太)+adj.”, and makes a comparative analysis on the structure meaning, color semantics of the adjective, pragmatic features and other aspects between these two negativeforms.The fourth chapter mainly classifys the biases associated with“tai(太)”in combination with adjective and analyzes the error causes. It is divided into nine types that biases associated with combination of“tai(太)”and adjective,and reasoned from the complexity of the Chinese language itself, misunderstanding the context of the target language, and negative transfer of learners and other aspects.The fifth chapter analyzes the shortcomings in explanation and exercise design associated with the language points of the combination of “tai(太)” and adjective in current Chinese textbooks for foreigners, and then designs a lesson plan, which has proposed specific teaching strategies for the shortcoming.The sixth chapter is the conclusion, summarizing the basic work and the main conclusions of this paper, pointing out the main innovations and inadequacies of this article.
