Based on a large-scale modern Chinese corpus and the HSK corpus,this thesis is aimed at exploring the Semantic Prosody situation of degree adverbs in modern Chinese.The author utilizes the methods of corpus linguistics that is combination of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis.Besides that,this thesis analyzes the incorrect use of degree adverbs in the HSK corpus and proves the importance of Semantic Prosody in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Six chapters are included in this thesis. First of all, it puts forward the research problem,designs the research plan and selects the corresponding corpus according to the research target. The most significant aspect is that the author examines the frequency of each degree adverbs in the corpus,and filtrates them according to the counting sort.Meanwhile,the pretreatment of corpus is finished.Then,the annotation style of degree adverbs is established after theoretical analysis.The problems existing in the process of labeling has been standardized in this step.Secondly,relying on the calculation of the distribution probability of degree adverbs,all of the 78 degree adverbs in modern Chinese are divided into four categories of Positive,Negative,Neutral and Intricate property according to the standard of65%,71% and 75%.Finally,the error in HSK corpus proves that the method of Semantic Prosody is important to foreign students.In the conclusion part, mainly reflects on the research of shortcomings.
