The Study On The Ecological Culture Of Guangxi Wetlands

The wetland culture is the summation of human society and wetland ecosystem. The superior natural conditions, significant ecological niche and diverse wetland types, as well as the rich and colorful ethnical culture of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China have formed its own wetland ecological culture with distinct characteristics. By analyzing the ecological culture of Guangxi from the perspectives of ethnic culture, historical developing process and regional spatial distribution, and discussing its advantages and present situation of conservation and development, the major findings concluded by the author are as follows:(1) Additionally, the means of literature analysis is employed in this thesis to explore the contents and characteristics of Guangxi wetland culture in three different periods, namely primitive period, agricultural cultivation period and modern society.(2) Moreover, according to research on regional culture, the wetland cultural regions are divided into four parts, namely, the eastern, southern, middle and northern part of Guangxi. Besides, the wetland cultural factors are reorganized, and the regional system of Guangxi wetland culture is preliminarily established in the form of landscape and tourism resources.(3) Based on science of tourism resources as well as the related theories of cultural landscape, this thesis attempts to probe into the resource system of Guangxi wetland culture with the selected wetland cultural resources factors. Meanwhile, according to the characteristics of wetland and humane resources of Guangxi, the rice culture "Na" of inland Zhuang people and the marine culture of coastal Jing nationality are established as the research objectives for case studies. Based on the help of the local chronicle and GPS, the author’s investigation statistics reveals that the number of places named as "Na" in Guangxi is 1163, including villages and towns, mountains, rivers and reservoirs etc. This finding also indicates the main distribution scope of "Na" culture in Guangxi.Besides, this thesis dissects the contents and characteristics of "Na" culture and the marine culture of Jing nationality respectively from the angles of material and spiritual culture.(4) Eventually, with the combination of field survey and literature review, the author points out the major issues of wetland cultural resources in Guangxi after studying their present situation of conservation and utilization, which manifests in the following aspects:firstly, the actions of protecting wetland historical culture in certain places of Guangxi has not been taken effectively, and the ethnic culture in wetlands has not been given enough attention; secondly, the number of wetland reserves and parks is few, especially coastal wetland park; thirdly, some problems exist in the usage of wetland cultural resources, such as insufficient utilization, monotonous using form, incomprehensive coverage and scale, and short industry chains; at last, the usage of wetland ecological culture resources is not taken seriously, and theoretical guidance in resource utilization is inadequate, etc.In the end, the specific suggestions are proposed to provide scientific basis for the reasonable protection and sustainable utilization of wetland cultural resources in Guangxi.
