| There are lots of Chinese in Thailand which accounts for 14 percent of the total population. Comparing with the Chinese in other areas.Thai Chinese are influenced most deeply by the local national culture with the highest assimilation.It could be said that Thai Chinese have already completely integrated with the local society in various aspects of politics,economy, culture and living.During that process the language usage of Thai Chinese has been totally different from Chinese people and the Chinese in other areas. In today that the Chinese international influences is constantly improving. The investigation on language usage of Thai Chinese is helpful to further understand the living status. Also it help learn a rules of language contact and enrich the achievements to formulate the better overseas Chinese policy and help The Thailand government t to formulate the better national policy to promote the friendship between China and ThailandThis paper tries to study the language usage of Thai Chinese Through the methods of the combination of questionnaire survey and interview In order to make sure the scientificalness of the research, we have sampling survey on the language usage of Chinese in Three Chinese communities in southern middle and northern Thailand Through the study we find that;1. the most significant language in the current Chinese living currently in three major communities in Thailand is Thai and their most important social tool is Thai.2.In three major Chinese communications in Thailand, the language of Chinese still has greater vitality,but there are certain differences when using in different intergeneration and different locations.For The Older Chinese.they use " Chinese more frequently than Chinese dialects usually and they reflect deep traditional Chinese culture in the aspects of language usage.For the middle-aged and teenage Chinese most of them use Thai obviously and they are impacted by Thailand culture more.3. The master of Thai and Chinese is not balance of orders, middle-aged and teenage Chines in three major Chinese communities in Thailand:often the Chines level of the old is good while the Thai level is worse. Obviously the Chinese level of the middle-aged Chinese is worse than the old while the Thai level is better; the Thai level of teenaged Chinese is excellent, but the Chinese level of them is worse than the old and the middle-aged Chinese. Besides, most of the teenage Chinese Take Thai as the first language and Chinese dialects, mandarin Chinese or English are their second language. |
