The documentary A Bite of China has obtained good reputation from audience at home and abroad. This documentary was interpreted into 9 languages and issued in more than 20 countries and regions all around the world. With the broadcast of A Bite of China II, the documentaries on food attract the attention of a broad audience. The second season of A Bite of China continues the pattern of the first one, which brings the audience into life and into stories one after another by introducing delicacies. From multiple sides, the documentary enables the audience to perceive China as a nation with long history and cultural tradition.Under the guidance of interpretative theory and with the application of interpreting skills, the author interpreted the first and fourth episodes of the documentary series A Bite of China II in way of simultaneous interpreting. And after the interpreting practice, the author eventually completed the report by comparing and analyzing between source text and interpreting version. There is still no English version for A Bite of China II inland.The report is composed of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion. Introduction concisely introduces the current situation for the popularization and propagation of Chinese culture as well as the study purpose and application value of this essay. The second part is the main body of the report. Conclusion is not only a summary of the interpreting practice and report, but also requirements and hopes for the future. Through this interpreting practice, the interpreter has had a soberer understanding of her vocabulary and application of the interpreting techniques. In the following learning and working process, the interpreter will get more strict with herself so that she can make more progress in interpreting.The main body of the report consists of four chapters: description of the interpreting task, description of the interpreting process, case analysis in the interpreting practice of A Bite of China II and unsolved problems and related reflection. Description of the interpreting task describes the interpreting task, including a brief introduction to the interpreting task, a brief introduction to A Bite of China II and reasons for selecting the topic. Description of the interpreting process talks about the interpreting process which contains preparation before the task, interpreting process and items after the interpretation. In the section of preparation before the task, the author focuses on accumulation of related professional knowledge and selection of interpreting strategies. For the case analysis in the interpreting practice of A Bite of China II, on the basis of interpretative theory and through explanation of specific cases, the author mainly elaborates some key points in the process of interpreting at lexical level and syntactic level. Lexical level refers to the interpreting of Chinese dish names and repeatedly using common vocabulary while syntactic level centers on several coping tactics for non-subject or fuzzy-subject sentences, sentences with unfamiliar specific fields knowledge and long, complicated sentences. The last chapter mentions some unsolved problems and related reflection in this interpreting practice. On the one hand, limited vocabulary remains to be an obstacle during the interpreting process. On the other hand, in the process of interpreting, the interpreter may make a few mistakes such as incorrect pronunciation or grammar mistakes due to slip of the tongue, which gives the interpreter a direction for hardworking.
