Comparative Research Of Chinese And Russian Proverbs

With development of China and Russia relations(especially economics and international relations) in the last years many Russian students are attracted to Chinese(also because of the writing system) and start learning Chinese language. From the 20 th century scholars and students in both countries continuously exploring especially the Chinese and Russian languages and national character of these two nations.Chinese and Russian belong to different language families. So, researches and students are often face many difficult aspects of learning Chinese. It`s quite obvious that any foreign language is particularly hard for a non-native speakers. Foreign languages are equally difficult for any learner. It also depends on which language person is coming from. A native foreign speaker trying to learn Chinese going through the whole process with learning characters, remember tones of characters.In addition to the basic vocabulary of both languages contain a variety of phrases that students also have to learn. People in ordinary speech use a lot of phrases and expressions including proverbs. Therefore, proverbs are commonly used in everyday conversations by native speakers. Proverbs(as being part of phraseology) are the short statements of wisdom or advice that are transmitted from generation to generation. Most proverbs reflect history and culture, aspects of social life, thoughts and values of people. Language and culture cannot be separated. Also, Chinese and Russian proverbs reflect similarities and differences between the two societies in cultural and linguistic aspects.This research explores the concept of proverbs, their sources, grammar, classification, meanings, teaching and translation problems. The work explains the conceptual features of Chinese and Russian proverbs, historical and cultural differences in terms, analyzes the features of the proverbs structure, translation strategies and methods, teaching methods.The main aim of this research is help students to expand their cultural and linguistic knowledge. I hope this paper will be useful source for study Chinese and Russian and also have a permanent reference value.
