Restrictive adverb,“the grammatical meaning of it is a small part of adverb which modify the number or scope of objects”(said by Liu Licheng 2008),it is an important sub-category of adverb.This thesis takes“zhi,guang, dan, jin”as examples,which are highly used and share similar usages,and discuss the related issues by combining the practice of foreign Chinese teaching.The first part of the paper tries to search the more reasonable ontology explanation of “zhi,guang,dan,jin”.The language materials which mainly from modern Chinese Corpus of State Laguage Commision and Peking University(ccl) are based on the results of previous studies. The ontology study includes two aspects:semantic and syntactic.From the semantic perspective,the paper is discussing about whether the four words have these distinguish meanings:[limit range],[limit quantity/time/age],[limit action itself/way/location/result],[limit state/feature/extent],then analyze the semantic orientation.Syntactic analysis give the detailed description of the position of these four words in the sentence,and compare the similarities and differences among them.The second part is a student acquisition investigation about “zhi,guang,dan,jin”.The linguistic data come from HSK dynamic composition and related questionnaires.Through analyzing those two parts,we discover problems,identify the fallible knowledge, thus to provide teachingsuggestions.The third part is the focus of this paper, which is on the basis of the previous two sections. It focus on specific operational and practical teaching suggestions which trys to give some references for the arrangement of text books in the future and for the teachers’ preparing lessons,which include: teaching order,the basic interpretation, usage display, illustration, tips about important and difficult knowledge,Analysis ahout easily confused words, related exercises.We hope the article can provide concrete and practical reference for the foreign Chinese teachers’ teaching, and bring some thought and ispiration for the teaching about other restrictive adverbs or confused adverbs, also can do some help for the students acquisition of restrictive adverbs.
