North to Sui and Tang dynasties are special periods in Chinese history.lt connecting link between Qin and Han dynasties’cultural tradition and Song and Yuan unified situation,to show a colorful cultural characteristics. In Tang dynasties, social prosperity, and frequent foreign exchanges, many leaders and businessmen to China for economic and cultural exchange, hu figurines that witness the Chinese and Western cultural exchange.This article mainly through to the three provinces in the middle reaches of the Yellow River unearthed hu figurines’quantity and category of statistical research in North to Sui and Tang dynasties, to explore this period of Chinese and Western cultural exchange breadth, depth, and the specific way and details of the communication. The article is divided into five parts.In introduction part,the concept of "Hu Man" definition is put forward, points out the connotation of hu man with changes in growing. The first part of the article, hu figurines unearthed in the tombs, on the walls, on the goods of gold and silver are statistics.We can find that the number of hu figurines unearthed in ShaanXi province is most, HeNan province is second, and the three provinces are the image of hu figurines in the majority in the Tang dynasty. The second part is the foundation of this thesis, of these hu figurines are analysis by archaeological typology, namely the analysis of the category and area, including the figurines of hu tomb figurines, travel into town ceremonial figurines, ci-poetry music figurines, attendants and others five major categories, each of the categories under the type is subdivided into a number of type. From the point of hu figurines of partition, first of all, with the center of capital and capital area, find tombs of hu figurines are most, and hu figurines types are varied. Second, the urban traffic arteries are give priority to, hu figurines found to ride a horse, led camel attendants. Finally, in the countryside rare or no image hu figurines.The third part through hu figurines unearthed first and with the historical documents and stone bed folding screen, etc. The above image analysis of country, to reflect the depth and breadth of Chinese and Western cultural exchange. Then, this paper discusses the period of the trade between the two sides of Chinese and western have tribute trade, folk trade and free market trade in three ways, the characteristics of the trade from the border trade to capital trade. Finally, the clothing to highlight the details in the communication between Chinese and Western culture. In conclousin,on the basis of summarizing the previous chapters, points out the shortage of the article.
