Analysis On The Characteristics For The Rhetoric Of Economics

Research about the methodology of economics, it is an important research field in the specific application of the philosophy of science. Rhetoric as a new representative of philosophy of science and as a methodology of post-modernism, is going to influence the scientists’view and methods, which make the scientists start to think about the scientific methods they used.The rhetoric of economics is a typical representative of the postmodernism methodology in the economics’application, and the characteristics of the rhetoric of economics reflect the feature of the rhetoric of economics. In order to understand how the economists think the economics research and in order to show how philosophy of science which influenced by the currents of post-modernistic thought impacts on economics, the characteristics of the rhetoric of economics need to be analysised.In this paper, the main research contents includes:In the first part, describing the origin of the rhetoric of economics and discussing by the development of rhetoric and the rise of postmodernism methodology, which makes the effect to the characteristics of the rhetoric of economics. In the second part, this article discusses the characteristics of the rhetoric of economics in the basis concept aspect about the rhetoric of economics, and further elaborates the three characteristics including the literary, persuasion and metaphor, in order to demonstrate the feature of the rhetoric of economics and to highlight the advantage. In the course of discussing the characteristics in detail, it shows the criticisms and doubts that the rhetoric of economics challenges the modern economic methodology. At the same time, it can make up for the defects of modernist economic methodology, and can widen the economic methodology. In the third part, the paper illustrates the significance analysis on the characteristics for the rhetoric of economics is embodied in philosophy of science, and discovers the characteristics for the rhetoric of economics are embodied in post-modern scientific realism of philosophy of science. Finding out that the literary, persuasion and metaphor of the rhetoric of economics is separately embodied in hermeneutics, rhetoric and metaphor of post-modern scientific realism, which further manifests the significance analysising on the characteristics for the rhetoric of economics. The innovative discovery reflects that philosophy of science under the influence of post-modernism not only has influenced the specific science methodology but also itself. At last, this paper make a global evaluation of the characteristics of rhetoric of economics, pointing out its contribution to the economic methodology, summing up influences that the diversified development of philosophy of science has made to the economic methodology.
