An Analysis On Environment And Heritage Activation Of Kangling Site

Great sites mean large-scale ancient cultural relics which includes ruins of ancient city, palace sites, emperor mausoleums and so on and it has the characteristics of widely distributed, large size,great quantity and high level. Most of the great sites, which plays the most important and most central part in cultural heritage, turn to be momentous representatives of cultivation, economy military and culture among significant historical periods in China’s history. The archaeological ensemble of western Han dynasty emperor’s mausoleum is one of the important delegates among all. Kangling Site is considered as an integral part of archaeological ensemble of western Han dynasty emperor’s mausoleumit. What’s more, it is a bisomum of western Han dynasty last emperor Liu Kan and his wife. As an vital great site, Kangling Site should be studied and protected. Heritage activation has been proposed as a new concept in recent years. Thus, its connotation, knowledge architecture, theory system and application are still exploring to proceed. The protected methods, preoperative plannings and development conceptions among great site protection is very common at present, however, only a few researches are related to Heritage activation. Taking Kangling Site as an example, the article explores the heritage activation of Kangling Site through analyzing its environment and looking for the relationship between site area environment and heritage activation.In the paper, the origin and connotation of heritage activation will be explored through analyzing and summarizing the existing research. Then, the internal relations between site area environment and heritage activation will be analyzed. Althrough there exists many factors that can influence heritage activation, the environment of site area turns to be crucial among all. Later comes the case study of Kangling site. The article tries to seek existing problems in site area environment and then evaluate the advantages and disadvantages through field investigation and analyzation between historical environment and present situation. In the end, an environmental stress model of Kangling site will be structured.
