Hongshan culture, as an important component of the prehistoric civilization, however, is mentioned more as a part of local resources. The study will search new paths of heritage activation about Hongshan culture, and put forward the idea of Hongshan culture tourist area for the first time, in order to accelerate tourism development about Hongshan culture.The tourist area includes seven cities, Chengde, Chifeng, Tongliao, Chaoyang, Fuxin, Jinzhou and Huludao. The paper analyzes spatial structure of area attractions by virtue of Arc GIS technology, evaluates the tourism value of Hongshan culture by AHP method, research shows that :(1) The geographic concentration characteristics of spatial distribution about area attractions is no significant, mainly in the coastal areas, the western of Chengde, the southwest of Chifeng, and the northwest of Tongliao. The distribution of counties attractions is also not balanced.(2) There are eight key factors in the value evaluation system, including time honoured, popularity, scarcity, craft uniqueness, cultural typicalness, and the number of unearthed cultural relics, participation and authenticity.The study puts forward the activation paths of heritage ontology, such as the reduction and decomposition of the transformation art, the visualization of totem culture symbol, the reorganization of DIY art materials, and the presentation of ancient elements lively by technology and landscape. The research also puts forward the activation paths of viewer activities, for instance, experiencing the time travel in diverse ways, watching the stage performance of myths and legends, tasting the fusion of ancient and modern elements, imitating the modeling of hieroglyphs, appreciating the original sexual culture in elegant and vulgar way. The study puts forward parallel multi-core mode of Hongshan culture resources based on Chifeng and Chaoyang, three major tourism circles of regional tourism resources, and seven tourism products system of the whole area. The tourism image is positioning in “Tasting classical Canon of Chinese culture, watching heaven and earth reiki of Hongshan”.
