Application Of Animation Show In “The Song Far From The Isle”

The short animated film “The song far From the isle” is my artistic work being derived from the voices of the soldiers heart when I lived together with them in military barracks. It told a story about a hard, lonely, but happy military life of an ordinary soldier who was dispatched to a remote island. Before being reported on the newspaper by a journalist unintentionally, the soldier guarded this island by himself. When he felt lonely, he would entertained himself via singing with a seagull and telling himself to the seagull. This story let all the people feel the spirit of being optimistic in difficulty that the Chinese people’s liberation army has. Because there was only a young soldier and a seagull, dialogues were seldom appeared in the story. For this reason, it is necessary to use a lot of body language and facial expressions to reflect the soldier’s inner emotion in this animated film. Therefore, the application of animation performance is very important.Animation performance have proved its worth since the animated film became popular throughout the world. Especially in the 1930 s and 1940 s when the digital technology was insufficient, people could only make animation through traditional hand-drawn frame by frame. Though the special effects technology being very mature today, animated films will lose its attraction without vivid and wonderful animation performance. Different from the reality show in the movie, the protagonist’s expressions can be exaggerated in animation performance to obtain the ideal results. Precisely because of this, the advantages of animated film is manifested, and this thanks to the animation performance.To accomplish a good cartoon needs to do a lot, including character design, scene design, storyboard etc, then draw storyboards in earlier stage, and then to post production, dubbing and sound effects, which all are essential at any stage, and when you wants to further increase the fun of animation step by step making the production at the same time, Only a well designed animation can attract an audience. This film is all animation process completed at the same time, more emphasis on animation performance. Believe that my works can provide reference for animated films of the same type.
