A Report On The Translation Of On China

Translation on political essays is of great importance among non-literary translation for it’s unique political language.The study on E-C translation of political essays can enrich techniques of political translation and contribute to the development of China’s political civilization.This is a translation report on the treatises entitled "The New Millennium" and "Epilogue" from the book of On China written by Henry Alfred Kissinger. This report mainly discusses author’s translation, translation process and exploration on translation techniques. Firstly, The report analyzes the content, the language style and purposes of this translation project. Secondly, The report introduces author’s two important preparations before translation-analysis of source text and reference to parallel texts. Thirdly, The report deeply analyzes key and difficult points in this translation project, and tends to seek solutions by exemplifying typical problems. Fourthly, The report concludes author’s experience from this translation project.This report tends to find out some techniques on E-C translation of political essays on the basis of full comprehension of stylistic features of political essays and a large number of translation practices. And this report mainly focuses on following aspects:translation of political terms and sub-titles, application of Chinese culture-loaded words, preservation of stylistic features.etc. In sum, this report summarizes experience learned from this project and translation techniques as solution to these problems.
