The Northern Wei Dynasty Xianbei Nobles And The Han Scholars Who Hua-Yi Concept

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the Xianbei nobles and the Han Scholars of Hua Yi Concept in different historical period. Tuoba Xianbei entered into the central plains and established the Northern Wei dynasty regime. The Han scholars in different identity Were incorporated into the Northern wei dynasty. In order to maintain the group interests and cultural independence, the Xianbei nobles and the Han scholars formed their own Hua-Yi Concept. The concept of Hua Yi in Xianbei nobles and Han scholars became the important factors influencing the Northern Wei Dynasty history process and integration Xianbei nobles enter into china with the attitude of winners in Emperor Daowu to Xianwen period. Ethnic and cultural superiority made them to disdain Han scholars and their culture.They also kill Han scholars and trample the Han culture. In order to maintain the interests of the family and restore the Han culture,the intelligentsias in the North voluntary or involuntary serviceed in the Northern Wei Dynasty. But they always keep distance with Xianbei nobles. Tuoba ruler implemented localization reform based on national long-term interests. This policy lead to Xianbei internal differentiation. Xianbei nobles who migrated to Luoyang reached a consensus in the cultural identity with Han scholars. As a result, the han people ascend in Northern Wei Dynasty. They became to have national identity with Northern Wei Dynasty. The Xianbei nobles staying in north had kinship with their people in Luoyang, but they had gradually marginalized. In the later Northern Wei Dynasty, Xianbei nobles in Luoyang growing up after localization reform have been completely melt into Han scholars. They no longer existed HuaYi Concept. Marginalized Xianbei nobles lost national identity of Xianbei culture and Northern Wei Dynasty.
